Absorbed in the domestic and discarded, through quiet rituals of preparation, contemplation, appreciation, I assemble and re-construct. I have been pursuing materials that have always fascinated me; the fragility of clay left un-fired, linen threads that fail to bind, poor paper offering its broken surface. Taking time is important though the final coming together may be swift. The deep humanity of Cecil Collins’ writing has been important to my thinking and the transcendent work of Eva Hesse expands my understanding. For the most part I am drawn to the rudimentary, the metaphysical and the prosaic.
